How to download the free Pump with Elvie app

To download the Pump with Elvie app, simply visit the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) on your smartphone or tablet. Search ‘Pump with Elvie’ and then select ‘Get’ (iPhone) or ‘Install’ (Android). The app is completely free to download and use.

How to check if Elvie Stride 2 is compatible with your device

Elvie Stride 2 is compatible with most recent smartphones that support Bluetooth Low Energy..

How to connect Elvie Stride 2 to the app

If you’re connecting your Elvie Stride 2 to the app for the first time:

  1. Start by downloading the Pump with Elvie app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Switch Bluetooth on in your phone settings and make sure your pump is charged.

  3. Tap on the ‘Connect’ button in the app and follow the prompts.

  4. You’ll be asked to press and hold the ‘Play / Pause’ button on the hub until the side lights flash.

  5. When the pump is connected to the app, the side lights will stop flashing.

You only need to do this once. The next time you open the app, the pump will automatically connect if your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled.

If the pump gets disconnected during a session, it will try to reconnect automatically.

How to personalize your settings using the app

You can use the app to save your preferred intensity settings in Stimulation and Expression modes. If you do this, your pump will always start at your preferred settings.

To personalize your intensity settings in the app, make sure your pump is connected and follow the instructions below.

For Android users, navigate to:
Menu > Account > Your Pumps > Personalize and save your intensity settings.

For iOS users, navigate to:
Menu > Account > Personalization & Preferences > Personalize your Pump and tap the cog, where you can save your intensity settings.

Remember, your pump must be connected to the app to complete these steps.

How to track your pumping sessions in the app

The Pump with Elvie app enables you to keep track of every pumping session, including the date of each session, how long it lasted, and how much milk you pumped. Milk volumes are entered manually. 

To access your pumping session information in the app, simply select ‘Sessions’ in the app’s menu. 

How to upgrade your Elvie Stride 2’s firmware

Elvie Stride 2 is smart. This means that in the future, we might add new features and benefits through firmware upgrades. Upgrading your firmware will give you access to all our latest product features.

The only way to upgrade your pump’s firmware is by using the Pump with Elvie app. If you don’t have it on your phone, you need to download it now (see ‘How to download the free Pump with Elvie app’).

You will also need to set up an Elvie account. This is free and can be done from the app.

To start a firmware upgrade:

  1. Fully charge your Elvie Stride 2.

  2. Turn it on and connect your pump to the app (see ‘How to connect Elvie Stride 2 to the app’).

  3. When prompted to upgrade your firmware, tap ‘Yes’.

  4. You will get a notification to let you know how long your upgrade will take. It will usually take between 2 and 10 minutes per pump, depending on your existing firmware.

  5. While you are making this upgrade, both your pump and your phone will be out of action.

If you have not been prompted to upgrade your firmware, check for a red icon next to ‘Account’ in the app menu.

If you see the red icon, tap it and then follow the instructions to upgrade. The upgrade will take between 2 and 10 minutes, depending on your existing firmware. You will not be able to use your phone or pump during this time.

If you have fully charged your Elvie Stride 2 and do not see the red icon next to the word ‘Account’, you are on the latest version of the firmware. No further action is needed.

Using Elvie Stride 2 without the app

It’s possible to use your pump without the app. However, you’ll miss out on some important features. We recommend using the app whenever possible. 

Using the app will allow you to: 

  • Control your session remotely and pump discreetly.

  • View your pumping session history and input your milk volumes to keep track.

  • Personalize your intensity settings.

You’ll also be notified in the app whenever a free firmware upgrade is available for your Elvie Stride 2. Firmware upgrades keep your pump running smoothly and also include new features and improvements.

Do I need an account to use the app?

Yes, you will need an account to get the most from the app.

By creating an account in the Pump with Elvie app:

  • You can upgrade your pump’s firmware to keep it running smoothly and access new features.

  • You can use the app to control connected pumps and keep track of your pumping sessions.

  • You can access help and troubleshooting advice.

  • You can use your pump with more than one phone or tablet.

  • You can retrieve your pumping data if you lose or replace your device.

You can log out of your account at any time. This means your data is kept private if you share your mobile device with other people.

Your pumping data is always stored securely and anonymously; but if at any point you would like us to remove it from our servers, simply contact our Customer Care Team.

Keeping your information secure and private

When you use Elvie products, data about your session is sent to your phone. Any data that is then sent to our servers is sent encrypted (using TLS) and stored on our servers on encrypted disks. 

To ensure that data remains anonymous, we separate it from any personally identifiable data, such as your name and email address, and store it on different servers.

We use anonymised data so we can see trends and meet the needs of our users by continually updating and improving their Elvie experience.
