I’m a frontline healthcare worker - is there any guidance on sterilizing the hub?
"I’m a frontline healthcare worker and would like to ensure I am keeping myself, my family and my patients as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. How can I sterilize the Hub so that I can continue to use it at work?"
For normal use, it is not necessary to sterilize the Hub. Simply wipe it down with a clean, damp cloth before and after each use.
As a frontline healthcare worker, we understand that you may still wish to take extra precautions when using Elvie Pump at work in these exceptional times. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the use of sterilization wipes, bleach, detergents or alcohol wipes to sterilize the Hub as they have not been rigorously tested and may damage materials on the hub. If you choose to use these methods please be aware that you do so at your own risk (voiding the warranty) and should take particular care to remove any residue from these sanitation products after use.
If applied in a sterile environment, removed correctly and disposed of, saran wrap (cling film) may potentially help keep hubs sterile. Contact our customer care team who will be able to help ensure your pump functions as expected if using saran wrap.
