Why does a strong pelvic floor matter?

Your pelvic floor is a powerful set of muscles that play an important role in core stability and bladder control. Pelvic floor problems, including incontinence, are surprisingly common, affecting 1 in 3 women, and up to 80% of expectant and new mums.

But it’s difficult to work out muscles you can’t see. Elvie Trainer cuts out all of the guesswork.

Proactive monitoring

Understanding the way you exercise is essential. 30% of women push down when doing their Kegels, which can lead to damage. Our patented technology measures force and motion that can detect incorrect contraction and helps you to improve your technique.

Is Elvie Trainer right for me?

First of all, congratulations on becoming a mama-to-be! Pregnancy is a beautiful (and ever-changing!) time in a woman’s life.

You and your baby’s health is our number one priority— which is why we’re extra careful with your body and make sure that we’re always bringing you the best, up-to-date advice. While there are no technical reasons not to use our product during pregnancy, we don’t recommend using Elvie Trainer unless you have consulted with a healthcare professional first. After all, they know you and your situation best.

Using Elvie Trainer postpartum is the perfect time to start—especially as regular pelvic floor exercise can help speed up postnatal recovery. We recommend to wait at least 6 weeks before using Elvie Trainer, with the approval of a healthcare professional.

Elvie Trainer is completely covered in medical grade silicone with no exposed parts, so it is safe to use with the coil or IUD.

If you have a pelvic heath condition (e.g. prolapse or pelvic pain) we recommend you consult a health professional before purchasing Elvie Trainer as they will be best placed to give advice that is specific to you.

After childbirth is a great time to get into a regular pelvic floor exercise routine. We recommend you wait for approval from your health professional before using Elvie Trainer after childbirth - this will usually be at your six week check up.

As long as your device is an Android with 9 or newer, or and iPhone running iOS14 or newer, and is Bluetooth Smart Ready (supports Bluetooth Low Energy) then Elvie Trainer will be compatible with your device. You can also use the Elvie Trainer with iPads running iPadOS14 or newer.
